The Rose St. Artists and Hand Made Crafts Market held every saturday at 60 Rose Street, Fitzroy, which helps artists and designers sell and showcase their works (hand crafted items and art works, naturally all handmade in melbourne) without high retail/gallery commissions.

The Red Hill market is the grand dame of victoria’s craft markets, starting off in 1975 where local art and craft people and producers bartered their goods with each other.


Unfortunately bartering no longer takes place, however the atmosphere, colour and excitement of those heady early years is still around, just head to Arthurs seaton on the first Saturday of each month, Sept-May, 8am to 1pm. sadly this may mean you miss out on the rose street craft market but it is difficult to have you cake and eat it also..

The Esplanade Market in St Kilda is a fantastic Melbourne market to visit on a beautiful Sunday, starting at Acland street and walking all the way to the end near the Esplanade hotel before heading to wards the peir to check out the penguins or to have a coffee and cake at the end of the pier..

You will find almost 200 hand made artists and crafts people, with a diverse assortment of handmade in melbourne artworks (wood, glass, paper, resin, recycled materials and more hand crafted items)..
